The problem with having modern day rampage is that is is much rarer nowadays to block with more than one creature. In fact, thanks to cards like terminate and go for the throat, creatures are nowhere near as important as they once were. I'm not saying that I'm against removal, just that in some ways magic is more fun with less of it.
