Seeing the new art and flavor text made me think she was some sort of contract-maker. Rubinia Soulsigner instead of Soulsinger. It even fits with the card's effects. I need to read more carefully.

Old art was better. Where are her wings? How is a Fairie holding up a peace of parchment that big? Contrariwise, how is a human person supposed to sign something that small?
Where is my Sigourney Weaver face?

@RAV004: 1. Soulsinger doesn't actually fly. 2. Faeries aren't inherently minute; how short do you think Oona was?

Did NOT see this reprint coming.

The art is beautiful and I think this is a very cool card to reprint in the new border but, as JSSarfin mentioned, both the new art and flavor text easily bring up a misreading of her name as Soulsigner. It makes me wonder if the art-director made that mistake on commisioning the new artwork.

all though she does not have flying, her wings could due to be more prominent. she clearly sort of has some on her back. She is a gold, three-colored, Legendary faerie. It would be ok for her to have nice wings even if she doesn't fly, since mathematically, they shouldn't work on a figure as tall as a human anyway. :)

Very good job giving this card a makeover. Cleaned up the rules text, and more importantly, gave it serviceable art!

I was wondering why she seemed so familiar. Functionally similar to Merieke Ri Berit

Would make for a fun general, "What's your commander ?" "It's Ditto"

For all of you wondering about the soulsinger/soulsigner mixup: the artist drew what was requested: Rubinia Soulsigner. Fortunately, the art still looks pretty good.
As for the card: I probably wouldn't play her as my general: while playing other peoples' decks is fun, it's more of a UB thing anyway. I would, however, include her in most decks that can play her. In EDH, there's almost certainly going to be something worth grabbing. If you have a sac. outlet, even better.

Seems like a passive and boring general. Good in the 99 though.

Merieke Ri Berit is cheaper, in a superior tribe and destroys the stolen creature if you somehow lose it...denying regeneration. Much better. Sorry Rubinia.

@ Continue, no it wasn't on the reserved list because it was printed in Chronicles and therefore subject to the exemption; "(3) all rare cards from Legends and The Dark that have not yet been reprinted in white border. "

ok, so i used this card in an Emperor game once with me as the emperor. i used her ability to grab creatures from opponents continuously.
in the version of the Emperor rules i read, each creature controlled by the emperor gains a tap ability to give control of it to one of his generals.
so... that means i take control of a target creature, then use the emperor ability to give it to one of my generals, then can freely untap Rubinia and use the ability again on something else because i dont control that creature anymore? or am i looking at an old version of the Emperor rules?

Interesting in combination with Murkfiend Liege, Seedborn Muse, or Prophet of Kruphix. You are actually forced to untap Rubinia on your opponent's untap step and return the creature you took. On the one hand, this can be a liability because it gives them another chance to protect it (via hexproof, etc...), but on the other hand it lets you take over their best creature every turn in a way that still allows you to attack with it on your turn.

It's like Cynthia Sheppard decided to show us a picture of Rubina in her early twenties, while Rob Alexander originally depicted her in her late thirties.
