I think what some people fail to take into consideration when rating this gargantuan Goliath is that its ability can even be used on itself, since it has 5 attack power. So what you're actually getting is a 5/3 first striker for only six mana.

no, this card is generally a little underwhelming because it's over-colored.

it's fine in a very strong manabase deck, but unimpressive. In it's Standard day, there were better things to do with that kind of mana.

More concerning is that people claim it's basically the only card in Mayael's Deck that actually works with Mayael. I don't remember most of these being *impressive* persay, but Mosstodon seriously could have come back. Easily.

's ok.

3.5, I'd say. Pretty situational, costs 3 colored mana, p/t is a bit low for it overall.

@Eternal_Blue

A 5/3 first striker for {3}{R}{G}{W} would be terrible.

A 5/3 CONDITIONAL first striker for {3}{R}{G}{W} is just plain bad. The fact he functions as a repeatable combat trick is useful, so he gets to go in the "mediocre but not terrible" heap.

When you compare him to other cards such as Spearbreaker Behemoth and Spellbreaker Behemoth, and keep in mind that if you're running him in a Voltron EDH deck, that there's also Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep, then he becomes a little underwhelming for the number of colours you have to put into him. He really should have had first strike himself, and even then, he does little that something like Viridian Claw can't easily do.
