Might be the best Ordeal. I might just be biased, but somehow adding damage onto damage makes a lot of sense. The counters stay, too. Don't forget that.
When you get strong enough you can hurl searing spears yourself. Or I suppose the appropriate comparison in this set is call down lightning strikes.

Initially I gave this a 2/5 and compared it unfavorably to Madcap Skills. (See this card's initial Heroes vs. Monstersprinting.) Now that Heroic has shown itself to include +1/+1 counters most of the time, this card is clearly a 5/5. In a deck that can use it correctly, it's pretty much a strictly better Volcanic Hammer to begin with. I daresay it's better than Lightning Strike, in fact.

Best of the cycle. The damage will always be relevant.
How does this work with double strike? If I have a creature that is 1/1 with double strike attacking a player, does it become a 2/2 after dealing 1 damage and attack a second time with increased damage? Thank you for assistance with this.

@VinegarStrokes Attacking and dealing combat damage are not one and the same. This triggers when you declare that you are attacking with the creature that it is enchanting.

Ordeals interact well with Auratog among others. Hopefully there will be an enchantment sac. outlet later in Theros block so that we can have fun triggering ordeals at instant speed in response to our stuff getting killed.
Overall, I really like the flavor and interactions of the ordeals.

@VinegarStrokes "Whenever ___ attacks" triggers when the creature is declared as an attacker.
