I'm still kinda sad that this awesome art that was shown to be on the boosters and such turned out to be on a this card. The card itself isn't awful, it just isn't up to what I hoped it could be.

Man, based on the Planeswalker's Guide to Theros, I was hoping this guy would be some kind of awesome legendary warrior-athlete. Instead all we get is a bad Firefist Striker.

Give him a better name. Then make him legendary. Give him 4 power and some kind of drawback (return a red permanent to Your hand f.e., or as seeing this set being cross coloured it can be green/white, etc.) and we have got a BOSS card.
You should try not being so upset by good creative decisions.

Could have had a second Heroic ability and still not been overpowered. Plus he is an athlete and it would have made sense to give him multiple physical talents. Giving two abilities that are dependant on another card is fair when it comes to a card that is, without the support card, no different than your average common. Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets Arena Athlete, Arena Athlete gets +1/+1 and first strike.
