Double strike in limited, even situational double strike, is easily worth the high-ish mana cost.

I don't usually choose sides in Ravnica.
But when I do, I choose Boros.

Oh man, I really wanna find a card in the original Ravnica that could potentially be his Dad.

Could do with 1 more toughness.

"But I'm mostly just here to remind everyone that minotaurs still suck."

@Purplerooster Sadly, Ordruun Commando is the only minotaur in the original Ravnica block. I therefore conclude that Ordruun Veteran's father is Gristleback.

I guess the power of this guy in limited depends on the amount of combat tricks you have.

You're not alone...for a moment there i thought we'd get Tahngarth's cousin in this set.

Works great with Martial Glory, both to up his potent damage output and to protect him from any unsavory burn spell.

But Deadshot Minotaur is from Alara! I'm pretty happy with this guy. I'm all about the double strike for Jor Kadeen commander. Still, though, for an uncommon I definitely agree that he could be better. He doesn't even block with double strike.

Wizards: "Hey! Want a 3 power Double strike?!"
People: "Sure!"
Wizards: "Hey! What if we balance it at 1 toughness?!"
People: "Well, I mean.."
Wizards: "Hey! Want that double-strike to be highly conditional?!"
People: "Wut r u d..?!"
Wizards: "And we could cost it at 4 mana!"
People: "Stahp!"
Wizards: "This is too good to be true. We happen to have an uncommon slot open for this guy :D!"

Let me explain why I have that opinion of this card:
Accorder Paladin - battlecry + this ability.
How much mana do you think that should cost?

All I'm saying, is that they could've printed this guy at {R}{W} and he wouldn't have broken the format. That may be really aggressively costed, but they could take away his soldier subtype if they were worried about it while adding a very interesting addition to boros/zoo aggro decks in other formats.

Double strike is nice, and he can pack a mean punch, but the cost is a pinch high, and good luck keeping the poor guy alive long enough. Limited only, if at all.

I love how Minotaurs in the artwork are always these huge beasts covered in muscle and armor, and then they have one toughness. It just feel so wrong XD
