Call of the Herd is a better card in general, but instant tricks + flashback makes for a fun card.

Call of the Herd costs half as much, but the art for CotH is less than half as good as the art for this one, so this one gets my vote.
I can't believe no one said this yet, but "It's the elephant of surprise." The art and flavor of this card are hilarious, it's a freaking elephant hiding behind a tree.

I can just imagine the art de***ion for this thing:
"Depict an elephant, hiding in the brushes or trees, as it slyly awaits to assault its victim. The focus should be on the elephant and its cunning use of the foliage around it to blend in with its surroundings."

Art is totally off, card's name is Elephant Ambush and it gives you elephant token, but art only depicts forest :S

Very evocative. Sneaky elephants, hiding through the jungles, eating commandos with their black and orange stripes and their large teeth and their catlike nature.

How great would it be to cast this as your opponent is attacking with his Geist of Saint Traft? Sure, you still take 4 from the Angel, but you just got rid of a mythic legend with a hilarious common from Odyssey.
