It's funny how every comment here has the highest possible rating! :) Anyway, I wouldn't mind casting something like Vigor Mortis on this creature card after I've dredged it into my graveyard together with seven other cards.. Protection from black, but no protection from black reanimation spells if it's in the graveyard, that makes me happy! :)

Useful on Turn 4 and beyond. I like Threshold -- mid-game cards become more powerful even as the game progresses.

Ah, it gets its Pro:B from its green half, and eventual-flying from White. Also, I get that this card is rare for reasons of terrifying bomb-ishness in Limited, but does this strike anyone else as a terrifically boring rare?

And before that, hes playable as a 3/3 prot black at 4 mana
Give Armadillo Cloak to him for early game pressure until Threshold then you have a flying monster stronger than most base dragons

He beats Baneslayer at less CMC and the same color weight.

I seem to recall it took him a little while to catch on back in the day. Granted, it's not exactly rocket surgery that a 6/6 pro-black flyer for 4 mana is a good thing.
