7 is quite a bit, but you get what you pay for. 8/8 Vigilance will be a pain for practically anyone to deal with, though it's lack of Reach makes me a bit sad. I mean, it's a walking building. Surely it could slap down a bird or two.

They have 8/8 GW vigilance Elemental tokens in the set. This looks like it should have just made one.
My guess is it started off as a token-producing spell, a la Call of the Conclave, and proved too powerful with populate in playtesting.
