This is an...interesting...take on creature override. Bonus points if the targets are (a) mean enemy creature for exile, and (b) copy of that creature from Dance of Many for population.

I know it's said for every overcosted but powerful card but, this could be really good in some sort of mono white EDH control deck.

Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares have spoiled us. As powerful an effect as exiling a creature is, I don't believe it should have ever cost just , even if it technically gave the opponent a benefit in exchange. That said, I think 6 mana is overdoing it. With populate stapled to it, a spell like this could have cost maybe 3 and still been balanced. Just because I don't believe white shouldn't have easy access to dirt-cheap creature removal doesn't mean I think it should be forced to pay an arm and a leg for it, either.

Good for a common white instant speed removal. Will probably be played in limited. But that it is so overcosted prevents me from giving it higher than 3/5

Pros like me know that white removal ain't cheap, especially removal that populates.

The idea behind this card is that it sets your opponent back one(-) by exiling one of their creatures; afterward, assuming all goes well, it sets you ahead(+) by allowing you to copy a token. If you play this correctly, and that's probably not going to happen unless your deck is designed for Populating/token-generation, this could be a powerhouse.

All I can say is I hope the Orzhov get Unmake reprinted in Gatecrash.

This definitely saved my bacon in the prerelease. Yes, 6 mana is a lot, but I usually had a centaur token around, and you know what? A flash nekrataal is pretty good!
From what I felt, the format was slow enough to make this a really solid card.
Outside ravnica, go look for Spitting image and its elk :).

Six mana is a bargain for this effect in limited; exiling their biggest threat and, more often than not, getting yourself a token is a huge swing. Not to mention that the token is usually a 3/3.

three times in the prerelease I used this on Trostani herself

I agree that this will never see the light of day in constructed, but in limited people vastly underrate this card. Exiling is HUGE in Ravnica with all the Scavenge running around (and a couple creatures have "die" effects, I think; I know there's one bird that draws you a card when it dies) and populate is, potentially, an insanely good mechanic. This sucker one me games by eliminating a huge threat and populating out that one extra flying 1/1 bird or 3/3 centaur or once, notably, 4/4 rhino. Again, jank in constructed; but in limited, if you're playing Selesnya, this is an absolute bomb.

I think it should have been costed as or but...

this would have been a great card to stick the white orbital laser on to :(

How in the world is this not Selesnya? They're all about getting everyone to listen to the Worldsoul and lose their personal identity and take on a communal identity.

for 6cmc and populate, it should have exiled "permanent you don't control"... anyone agree?

More amusing in a token-based commander deck. Still playable in Limited, obviously.

I haven't gotten to test it, yet, but this card seems totally playable in my Trostani, Selesnya's Voice EDH deck.

The flavor of this is kinda creepy. "I judge you to be unworthy of your current form. I shall make you a new one." I like it.

What if i don't have any creature tokens on battlefield ?

2/5. Expensive cost wise, it does however exile a creature (good against Golgari) and gives you another token.

Living the dream involves you casting this to exile your opponent's best creature and then populating your elemental token from Grove of the Guardian.

Expensive, but Exile is the single most solid form of removal, and Populate is a brutal mechanic.

Unplayable in constructed, but a complete bomb in limited.
@ironache: Then you don't populate. Some of this really should be common sense...
