Holy freakin' crap this is a good 1 drop. I love seeing commons and uncommons that are not powercreeped too much but are more realizations of appropriate costs for effects.

The problem of cards like these is: if I play him on turn one, then the only advantage it has over a vanilla 1/1 drop is, that I can spend mana to pump it. But the next few turns, I probably want to play more threats instead. So... At least in the late game it can deal some damage. Well, not too much either. Ok this is crap.

This is a good 1-drop. Pros like me know how to pump lizards up effectively.

Inefficient pump on a relatively minor body. Underwhelming, but not overtly offensive like some of the cards I've seen from RtR.

This lil' guy is cute and makes me want to build a Lizard tribal deck with Skitter of Lizards. I won't though. This card is good, don't get me wrong, and I've always dreamed of a one-drop with fire-breathing. Sadly, now that it's here, it's a little underwhelming compared with Typhoid Rats, a legitimate turn one threat. It might find a place in Pauper, but still.. the 1R cost is a tad much.

Inefficient, but may be useful late-game when you've got nothing better to do with that mana.

Well, you're still swinging for 2 damage on turn two.

He's not too terrible, guys. Give him a break. In limited, he's an early 1/1, who can probably get in for 1 or 2 points of damage before becoming a chump blocker. Late game, he drops and can pump up to a 4/1 and swing with your team for a significant source of damage that has to be blocked. Flexibility is something many people overlook.

He's ok. He's not going to make or break your deck, in fact, he won't be seeing any constructed play at all. That being said, he needed to be printed because without him red would have way too many expensive spells. Definitely not unplayable.

Relevant in limited as one of Izzet's extremely few playable creatures, not to mention playable spells. Izzet's so pathetic in this set it almost makes me cry evertim.

So he is:
1. A 1/1 for 1
2. No typical red abilities (haste, first strike, et al.)
3. A +1 firebreather for 2 mana
Ew, no. 2 mana for a +1 power boost on a vanilla chump is just inefficient. No, just no.

At the prerelease, I was forced to trade a much better card for this. I was so ashamed. This card plays a very important role in Rakdos sealed.

Not bad at all in Limited, and nice art to boot. Don't see why he's getting so much hate.

Ligit, in sealed. Good against slower decks people will build, grab this guy for drafting this set while playing red

Absolutely beautiful art, real shame it's just not quite useful enough.

Not as good as Scissors Lizard IMHO

It's a 1/1 for 1.
It has an ability which regularly causes it to scale into the late-game.
At least a 3-star card here. And at common? Come on.

Not a whole lot of epic one drops here in RtR, but fire breathing is still fire breathing even if it's a tad inefficient.

Why do people hate this card? It's weak, especially if everything's going well, but has potential to trade with something stronger or do extra damage. It's a 1/1 for Red with an ability. Much better than a number of other weak cards in this set, anyway.

Streamlined, strictly worse Goblin Taskmaster.

Clearly designed for Limited, but he's okay in that format. Nothing special.

3/5. A solid draft card. It won't see much if any competitive constructed. In casual RDW this card could be fun.

It is surprisingly close to a Firedrinker Satyr; just 1-power keeping him from being that level
