Heartless Summoningis a pretty good idea with this card. I'm more surprised at the fact that it's the only unleash creature with haste. Seems like creatures that come in bigger and crazier than normal ought to be able to attack the turn they hit the board.

Trample would have been better, but it's still a good card. In 90% of the cases you will play it with unleash.

This thing will be scary when it comes out. Sadly it can't take advantage of first strike defensively when unleashed, but haste makes attacking a much sweeter proposition.

The Original Rakdos cult members where miners, laborers, and servicemen. Entertainment (for THEMSELVES) was a large aspect of the guild, not only because it made Rakdos happy (the other paruns gave Rakdos a guild so he'd be occupied with doing something productive for the plane rather than going on rampages and stopping the other guilds) but because it let the extremely underprivileged working class have something fun to do when their work got difficult, depressing, or dangerous. It "livened up their life". Did you know the majority of the undercity (the place the Golgari, Dimir, Rakdos and Simic live) was dug out by day laborers of Rakdos?
To me, the utterly complete and overspecialization and narrowing of focus to pure "chaotic entertainment", especially for the other guilds, is a disappointing turn for the Rakdos cult. I'd have liked to see more of the labor aspect than the "scary super clowns" that they've morphed into in Return to Ravnica.

Saw a lot of this guy at the prerelease. You always needed to save a removal card for it, as you would almost never be able to take it down in creature combat. That's a lot of first strike damage!

This thing is freaking scary in Limited. I imagine it'll be a high pick if you're drafting Rakdos. 6 power with first strike for 6 is pretty nasty on its own, but with haste, too!

This is Rakdos's champion in RtR? I am disappointed. I think the other cards from the would-be cycle were better in comparison. If it had trample, well, that would be a different story then, but it does not, so it's just a mediocre "bomb"

This is one of my favorite cards of all time. Saw heavy use at PR, mainly unleashed and doing first strike damage. Without trample, pretty much everyone was looking for a way to block it. Got Launch Party-ied a few times, andwhen he's unleashed he won't die to Auger Spree.
Definetly one of the better Rakdos cards in limited, at least for me. First strike is awfully evil.

To me, the Unleash almost seems overkill for this card. Going from 5/4 to 6/5 will rarely make a difference in combat (especially since this has first strike). Would have been more interesting to see it at 5 mana with haste being conditional on Unleash.

It's a little generic but not too bad. 6/5 for 6 with haste are decent stats, and the first strike makes sure it won't just die. Flavor text is sadly cheesy. 3.5/5

And I had thought I had seen the last of the Nightmare creature type! I love how twisted the art is on both versions of the card. It begs to be Unleashed and go charging onto the battlefield in a wake of fire. Even though it's clearly an offensive card, First Strike provides enough of a defense that it will be troublesome to kill with combat damage. And the flavor text is just awesome.

I pulled 2 of these out of my packs at the pre release plus the one that I got from the guild box. This is a dang useful card the haste and first strike make it worth the cost in a tight spot.

In limited, this usually comes too late for the Rakdos finish : your opponent already has some critters to block this non-trampling monster. In constructed, this doesn't come any near other 6-drops that are playable. A disappointing Rakdos "champion" (waiting for Sinker).

It's a bit expensive for my tastes but it is a powerful drop with haste. I wouldn't normally bother with it but I feel compelled to build a deck around it.
Myself and a friend have picked up six of these things in recent weeks through opening boosters and only a single Loxodon Smiter. Where's the fairness in that? Now I'll actually have to find an excuse to use them.
It probably packs a punch in limited but I can't face taking another one in draft.

I think this guy is pretty good. For a spell to be playable at 6 mana, it has to be a threat that wins the game really quickly, if not immediately. A 6/5 haste first strike creature is going to win the game very quickly if left unanswered. Sure, it's no hellkite, but it is pretty much the best Rakdos fatty game-ender in RTR (besides Rakdos himself) and a mechanically pleasing creature. It does strike me as funny that they bothered to put unleash on there though, like you're ever gonna block with the damn thing.
Maybe not the most powerful card, but it feels powerful but not broken, which is rare these days.
