Just thought that needed to be highlighted (looking at you, "Compare to Simulacrum" guy)

-Flicker-ready; and white is the color of flicker -Thins your deck, and ramps in white; both of which are awesome/neat. White is very good at running low curve builds that still have a few fats up top (due to pulling a bunch of lands from the deck.) -With no other ramp this guy allows a T5 Suntitan; which is nice. -Card advantage silly! -Emeria

When you don't include Green in your mana spectrum for EDH, this is always a great choice in White.
You always need a little bit or ramp, and with this, you at least get a 2/2!
I'm looking at Solem, and I'm seeing that this guy is much more versatile in getting lands. Check it: Solemn Simulacrum grabs a land and is colorless and brings that land in play tapped. A BASIC land. This guy, although has a color in its mana, has the same body as Solemn, BUT grabs a Plains CARD ( as Goatllama said ) into play tapped...now, I may be wearing glasses but anything that is splashable and can get shock lands or the original dual lands is pretty good in my book.
