The only mechanical difference between this version of Fireball and the others is with how it interacts with spells that care about converted the converted mana cost of the targeted spell.
Counterbalance and Chalice of the Void are two such cards.


Use R&D's Secret Lair to increase the CMC of this spell.

Other than Phyrexian Ingester, I believe this is the only card that ever had a Y variable. I guess Wizards doesn't wonder Y very often.
