Not bad when there was a gap between first strike and normal damage. Also good with Thundermare, and whenever you want to make an all-out attack and not worry about retaliation.

Glacial Cravasses is the centerpiece of the absolute silliest deck which just might win:

Snow-Covered Mountain x61
Glacial Crevasses x4

I know it's a terrible deck, it's just funny how it might actually be able to win against some decks.
