Not as good as Overrun, but still useful since it's an instant. Kind've a chump-block deterrent.

Good in those multiplayer formats where two or more players have a simultanious turn (Archenemy, Two-Headed Giant, etc), as it boosts all attacking creatures, not just those belonging to one player.

This came along about two years before Overrun (first printing in Tempest). Ice Age was coming off a very underpowered era in Magic. This worked quite well for what it does.

It's an instant, so it can be an ugly surprise you cast after all your attackers got chump-blocked.
