Play this in an artifact deck, and it's even more annoying.

Absolute shutdown for anything but PURE artifact decks. Beautiful!

For prolonged use, boomerang after the upkeep becomes to steep and start again.

Nice shutdown for about 4 turns. Play big creatures with mana acceleration and get pump spells. Once you got some beaties, play this card and you've pretty much shut down your opponent after taking into consideration that they aren't playing artifacts. Also, during those four turns you have a chance of drawing another copy of this card or multiple copies of pumpers like giant growths. Play em all once you can't pay the Cumulative upkeep cost and that's pretty much game. It's actually a great card for a mono green deck. 4.5/5 but only because it costs so much.

Remembering that green mage has all those nice creatures and enchantments that would still produce green mana. Awesome card.

Blood Moon is usually more effective, but I could see this being a nasty part of a Myr deck with Power Conduit.

Underrated!
This is totally sick in mono-green ramp. Unless you are into Primalcrux or Khalni Hydra, your mana elves are still going to give you enough {G}, whereas your opponent(s) will probably be completely deprived of any colored mana. And your own forests can still pay the cumulative upkeep.
