Screws Daze really well. I'd rather have them pitch cards to Force of Will. Quite a good card advantage ability against any deck splashing blue. I'd say that warrants inclusion.
Just a black mana on legs. Whoever wastes a card trying to get rid of this will just see it sacced for the mana even if the mana is used or not. I could see this card used to attack turn after turn.

for a very long time this was the ONLY 1cmc creature i used in my mono black decks. there are a few additional solid options now for mono black 1 cmc, but if you really need to get your high cmc permanents in the game early, Blood Pet should be in your deck.

Allows you a nice 4-drop T3, or a 3-drop T2. This means if you run any hosers, you can hose an opponent T2 and call it a day. Works with Pawn of Ulamog pretty well as he'll get out sooner, this guy dying can give you more eldrazi to allow you more permanent ramp, and ulamog ramps you, so they both work in the same kind of deck (some stompy demon/horror/big-thing deck)
