For that much mana I'd hope that the ability would be available at instant speed, and even then it'd be excessively situational. Another possible source of a coalition victory, I suppose, but if that's your goal, then transguild courier is a superior choice.

I'd actually rather have it as a 2/4...

This is not a beater, it's some kind of... Johnny thing. (Coalition Victory and Spirit of Resistance have been mentioned, I add the cycle of Shadowmoor/Eventide Deity enchantments to the mix, this critter will always get maximum benefits out of them.)
