Am I the only one that thinks this isn't a good card? :/ You pay freaking 8 mana for a 3/8 forestwalk, and then from then on you can pay 1 for one +1+1 counter? Jesus. I am not impressed.

as a 3/6 for 6 mana... huh. still pretty unimpressive. A 3/4 for 4? that would be good, right?

Uhh, i am not sure how much EDH you guys play, but it tends to go long, and get into areas where a butt-ton of mana is available. This check makes all of your eternal witnesses and sakura tribe elders scale up into the late game. In addition, the plusses given by her have a huge synergistic effect with the general and Vish Kal, making them HUUUGGE.

A pleasant inclusion in Ghave's deck.

Phyrexian Dreadnought. Chorus helps you build up the requisite 12 power, then you can sink all your mana into the Dreadnought for a 20+/20+ trample.

A bit unnecessary in a deck where the general is a mana sink, but you'll notice that my complaint is NOT that this is too expensive.

Since it is part of the cost (the reason it works with convoke), it also is nice with the Bannerets and other cost reduction triggers, like the commander-printed generals Karador, Ghost Chieftain and Animar, Soul of Elements, although it is off color for Animar. So you can effectively get free counters. But sadly doesn't work on tokens because they worded it that way.
@greg2367 If you are so unimpressed, why were you inspired to make your useless comment? If you can't see this for what it is, a very late game mana sink, then just move on and like the grown ups talk. This was not costed for it's power/toughness. It isn't an aggressive creature, period. The only reason it had the 8 toughness is to help it survive and give you a sizable wall to hide behind while you send out your extremely pumped creatures out on the offensive. Honestly, I think the only reason it has forestwalk is for flavor because of the creature type.
this creature is....odd. Personally, I think 3 power is weak. No, I understand that the card is not really overcosted, and it's also not even supposed to be aggressive. It's one of those 'this creature is actually really an enchantment, that also happens to be able to block' cards. That's cool.
Considering Dryads are kinda like Elves, and they're green to boot, I would say you don't even have to think inside the Commander box to realize it's quite playable. Heh-heh: two words Doubling Season?
But, really, the 3 power is still bugging me. Isn't this supposed to be the Guildmasters of the Selesnya? Just like the Forestwalk was clearly a flavor add-on, I think that the flavor of 'Legendary creature cabal that heads the guild' should be worth 4 power at minimum, maybe even 5. Still keep the toughness end much higher than the power, so that people know they are better off blocking with it. But when I block stuff, it would be nice if they actually killed whatever attacked. :p

@DarthParallax - Green has a multitude of ways to buff creatures on the defensive so they can destroy those that they block...and white has a handful as well.
With the ramp available to green and the ability to untap (in both colors), there's no reason not to play this if you're allowed; the increase in P/T is incredible and it can help power other fun (Power Conduit springs to mind). Hell, with a Rule of Law out, there's a way to use the probable excess mana you've got there.

Great with any kind of mana ramp deck. Turns your late game Llanowar Elves into a monster, and makes your fatties even fatter. Not bad for a bunch of dryads in their underwear.

Great general for EDH. You just have to know how to build your deck around it.
I think, WotC really should make more Dryads. It´s a shame, there are hundrets of ugly Goblins, but only about 10 Dryads available, although Dryads are such a damn nice creature type (same goes for Sirens btw). An Elf - Dryad with a tap-ramp ability, would be nice, a haste Dryad, for example, or a Dryad Harbinger, etc... More ways to enable the forestwalk ability, and to make it somehow more efficient, also would be nice.
I for one, really like this creature card. It´s nothing which gives you much combo possibilities, or anything (except for playing around with counters of course), but it´s a nice card, if you don´t like to play fatties, but rather weeny creatures. That she´s only a 3/8 doesn´t bother me much too, since she´s mainly there for defense anyway. If anything, it only makes her (or them?) less of a target for removal spells. WotC just should start to care more about the Dryad tribe and their abilities, then this card will get a 4,5/5, or maybe even a 5/5 from me.
But for now it´s only a 4/5. Still great though.
Edit: I`ve just seen a spoiler of the new Return to Ravnica set, and the new Legendary Dryad "Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice" really looks awesome. Definitely going to be my new general in EDH. Some other new dryads too, and other new Selesnya spells, which are quite awesome.
I really hope WotC continue to bring out more Dryads and make them stronger, somehow, because I for one, think it´s one of the nicest creature types ever.

It seems like this guy will go well with the new commander generals that care about the amount of mana you spend casting them.
