this guy is sometimes refered to as Urza, right?
i'd like to see him as planeswalker card, though.

I know his ability can be useful with the right combinations, but he is still one of the worst legends I've seen.

If it wasn't for the fact that I know it's Urza... I would join in the chorus of complaints.... however, I am just going to say they could have given him a much cooler ability.... like the ability to scry.... before it had a name.

As a Johnny, I can appreciate the design team wanting to challenge us... as a Spike... this is a joke.

At least it can be black to avoid terror, doom blade, etc... and doesn't have to worry about protection from X....

This + hydroblast/blue elemental blast/ red elemental blast = destroy/counter any permanent/spell for 3 mana

@Mode: If they made an Urza planeswalker, he'd be the single most powerful card ever printed. I guarantee it. Black Lotus has nothing, NOTHING, on Urza. Urza makes Black Lotus look like a waste of mana.

@Mode: He WAS the most kickass planeswalker ever, but he was affected by the healing of the rifts in Future Sight, just like Nicol Bolas.

Seer + Northern Paladin = destroy anything on the table for 4 mana.

Seer + Lifeforce = Counter any spell for 4 mana, repeatedly. (with Heartstone, 3 mana).

How is that not useful?

Draugnor: There are legends that make this card look like a Black Lotus. Like almost every legend from that set...what was it... oh yeah, Legends!

Um... he also died everyone haha. His head was cut off, and what was left was used to trigger the Apocalypse, even is spark is gone, with Karn being lost in the Aether and all.

There is no synergy with Iona, the spells would have already been cast when he changes the coulour. Try UU less, and use Painter's Servant.

Cmon guys! This has got to be one of the cooler cards out there! This thing lies under the radar. Maybe I could use this guy as my EDH general...

Blind Seer and Douse with either training grounds or heartstone and you have unlimited counterspell. Wow.

@lorendorky: Nope, by the time you activate it on the spell, it will have already been cast, and so it will resolve. Because Iona doesn't counter it and makes it so it can't be played, it will get past that trigger and resolve.

I like how all the Vorthoses are calling themselves Johnnies. Myself, I'm a Spike/Vorthos, and I would not play this if I had it and yet never ever trade it.

I like how they managed to print an Urza card by having him be undercover; a proper Urza card would be more overpowered than his entire block together, after all. Also, don't forget his ability is a lot more useful than it seems in Invasion block.

It would be somewhat amusing if Nicolas Cage found Secret Codes on the back of the foils of this card that only characters related to the Egyptian God Monsters or Zorc could read that somehow turned this card into the most Busted Planeswalker of all time:

+5: Lands you control produce mana of any color this turn and Necropotence.
+10: Put a Blue Planeswalker token into play with "Starting: 3", "+1: Fateseal 1", "0: Brainstorm" and "-1: Unsummon"
-20: Search your library for a Planeswalker card, and put it on top of your library, then gain control of target Planeswalker.
-30: Put a colorless Artifact Planeswalker token into play with "Starting: 5", "+4: Exile target card from a player's hand", and "-3: Vindicate"

As long as you are playing MAGIC in any game and control Urza, Broken Super Planeswalker in any subgame, you may put a copy of any Urza, Broken Super Planeswalker into play under your control in any other subgame on the stack. Activate THIS ability once per subgame. This doesn't mean all of them at once, it means you can add one more Urza, Broken Super Planeswalker copy to a subgame any time you are in a new subgame from the subgame you were in when you last used this ability as long as you control an Urza, Super Broken Planeswalker in the subgame you are in, who enjoys subgames.

Made an EDH deck with this guy for sheer flavor value of having old man Urza as the commander. I think it'd be great fun to have EDH decks constructed after characters from the game. And heck, if Wizards announced the next round of Commander product as having old characters given new legendary cards? Cake.

Well, if you think about it, the Karn planeswalker card is sort of like Urza, since Karn has his spark. The abilities are very Urza-like, as well. If I had to make an Urza Planeswalker card, the ultimate would probably be something like "Put your library into your hand. You gain an emblem that reads "You don't lose the game from being unable to draw a card. You have no maximum hand size."" Hehe.

If they ever make an Urza card, it should have "When this card comes into play, put a Phyrexian Negator card into play under your opponent's control" and the ultimate should be something like "Put a Legacy Weapon card into play".

@Lord_Ascapelion, By that logic, Karn is Venser, not Urza. Karn used Urza's spark to seal a time rift, and was later given Venser's spark, killing Venser in the process.
