I don't think this card, by itself, is super broken. It is obviously extremely good, but it isn't obviously degenerate in the way many tempest and urza block cards are.

This card is brilliantly good in any black deck, and broken in any deck that knows how to use it.
You know what else is broken? Gatherer's censorship. We can't talk about the ***atrice, Royal Assassin, or mention Japan without being censored. But Bigboss1967 showed that the censor fails to catch the word "fucked".

I use three copies of these alongside four Exhume in my Reanimator.

Easily one of the top 20 cards in the power scale. The potential for this card as a new player is really high, but anyone that has played for some time can come up with a game winner using this and a handful of other cards easy. Way too powerful.
Not exactly broken, I'd say. An excellent card, but still, with the kind of creatures you want to get, you're tearing off your own arm and beating the opponent with it. Mana costs of 7, 8... of course you can just get a lifelinker, but you're still on hope and pray you don't get it removed.

This card is powerful, but not monstrously broken like some people say, or at least not by itself. The real culprits are the enablers in the kind of decks that run this, such as Entomb.
