Way too much mana for a saproling unless this didn't tap to do it.

With all the bonuses the cards that get you Saprolings give you by sacrificing them? I disagree. Sure, it's a late game effect, but when the battlefield's all spread out and all you're drawin' are Mycologists with 10 lands, you are gonna love this card to death. Or you could use the effect to set up for three turns before popping a Mycoloth out. Believe me, in a deck based around Saprolings, this could easily be worth every ounce of mana.

Free creatures, from a card advantage perspective, is never bad.

Late game, 4 mana is worth every bit! Used this for blockers in a pinch more times than I can count.

A good card, but the cost for the Saprolings is just far too expensive, seeing as how you have to tap it, as well, to get them.

How isn't this rated 4.5/5?
It's a colorless land that enters UNTAPPED with the OPTION of giving you some extra CARD ADVANTAGE at EOT.
It costs alot? Umm... Use ur extra mana that would otherwise go to waste. It's not even like it's legendary.

Not that people don't know, but this + Skullclamp is 2 cards a turn at 3 mana each. This card is one of Ravnica's trophies that will always be seen in EDH.
