This card is ABSOLUTELY RETARDED with Megrim. Mana Bomb (with Megrim) says "deals three damage to each player, and each player may discard a card in order to take even more damage."
If I wanted to discard to prevent damage from Mana Bomb, preventing the damage would cause more damage, so I wouldn't discard a card.
Although, to be fair, with Megrim out Mana Bomb turns into a Lightning Bolt, I suppose.

Lightning Bolt? I dunno if that's a fair comparison -- this is more like a blue Lava Spike that you have to pay 3 life for (or discard cards for). It's useful if you need the discard ability, or if you're playing multiplayer, where you're effectively Lava Spiking the whole world.
Good card or no, back in the day we loved it, just because it's called Mind Bomb.
