It seems a little under handed that in every other edition this is a common and in the editon marketed to begginers they made it a rare. It seems like they where trying to make new players spend more money for below average cards.

Best card in red in my opinion. A 1/1 for one red mana, an amazingly powerful and cheap creature. You guys are asking why this is a rare, next you'll be asking why One from Nothing is a rare...

bersekberserk this card does not deserve the spot of being rare. Its 1/1 for R. There are quite a few other red 1/1s that cost R. Such as Goblin Balloon Brigade and you can pay R and give it flying til the end of turn.

Obvious sarcasm is obvious.

What makes it truly incredible is that Raging Goblin was also in the starter set... at Common! Did someone have a brainfart when they chose to make this rare? Or even in the set?

The true power of this card is in its ability to be placed in the graveyard after it is destroyed OR after it has its toughness reach 0. This opens up a world of possibilities, especially for red/black decks. Plus, it has no rules text and no special abilities, which in turn can't be used to its disadvantage by manipulative blue spells.

Also, think about it... you're paying for one power AND toughness, which is a bargain at any mana cost.

Amazing card with lots of utility and potential.

The rarity is obviously to troll new players. "Armageddon... Armageddon... please let it be Armageddon... ARGH DAMMIT!"

Pay one mana for 1 damage? Thats the same ratio as Lava Axe! And you can attack for it every single turn (except for the first turn because it doesn't have haste)

They should ban it in Modern. It's so good it's almost a COMMON!

Think it's a bad rare? Still better than Liege of the Tangle.

Don't forget guys, not only can you attack with this, but you can block with it too!

This has got to be the dumbest starter set ever. We pay real money for these cards and they pay these guys a salary. Its very embarrassing when sloppy mistakes like this and Goblin Hero happen, anywhere else someone would have gotten fired.

But at WotC, they just laugh it off and sip their coffee while we waste money on things like this and Mindless Null.

If they had any real competition maybe they wouldn't be so lazy?

Curtain of Light.
It would've been too powerful if it couldn't!
