It's both strange and refreshing to see elves that aren't green.

Two of the best creature types in the game and a decent body for a one-drop. I can't help but think that this could be pretty good in the right deck.

Even in the wrong deck it's not bad.

I'm not seeing the devotion part... or the heroic part for that matter :\

Well it's a 1/2 for {W}. You can't really go wrong with that.

The heart of the darkness is the light of the heart. Does that help?

I remember playing this card in a pretty good white weenie deck in high school. It ran Savannah lions, mother of runes, soul warden and many far better one-drops than this. But devoted hero, he didn't let it get him down that he was way outclassed by every other card in the deck! He kept bravely fighting no matter the odds. While the lions or wardens or other cards at all considered any real threat would be blocked and taken down, devoted hero was there to punch through the lines and go head-to-head with the opposing planeswalker. I once saw him take down a whole pack of tundra wolves.

I don't know what happened to him after that, but I'll never forget devoted hero. Wouldn't use him in a deck, but won't forget him.
