Graveyard hate, so cheap and so many these days :(

So your Legendary Eldrazi died. I sacrifice Nihil Spellbomb. Say bye bye to your Emrakul because he's not going back to your deck .

I so needed this card. My EDH deck needs a lot more graveyard hate now that Eldrazi made milling people out so much harder. Gonna put this right next to Relic of Progenitus and Bojuka Bog. :)

@Cyberium: Blame Vengevine.

I expected a reprint of scrabbling claws, but this is actually better.

Interesting. This is worst bomb in limited and best bomb outside of it.

I'd be so much more excited about Nihil Spellbomb if it didn't target - that's what made Relic of Progenitus really, really awesome. Sure, your own grave got hit in the process which could've been detrimental for some decks, but it got around Leyline of Sanctity. In standard right now the Leyline stops every graveyard removal effect cold, as they're all targetted. Basically, if they're playing Wx and have the Leyline in the side (which they should for decks like Valakut or RDW), you'll have a hard time hitting their graveyard - which can be something you want to hit, especially if they're running Sun Titan or Emeria (ok, admittedly unlikely - but stranger things have happened).

3/5 - cheap and does what it's supposed to, but it's no Relic of Progenitus. In limited, still 3/5 - 1B for a card draw isn't exactly as good as Sign in Blood, but there are worse things to do on turn 2.

If you're playing a format that allows it, there's almost no reason to run this instead of Tormod's Crypt, unless you're playing black and want the extra draw (can't begrudge that). But in Standard, this card alone is what keeps non-black mill viable, so it's hard not to give this one a solid rating just on that alone. Plus with how prevalent dredge has become, giving any color that wishes it some Vengevine insurance is a welcome move.

I like how this says "Odyssey block cards are unplayable" in its text box.

Considering all signs point to Innistrad being a graveyard block, there sure is a lot of Inni-hate.

As of September 18th, the rating stands at 3.868. Check back once innistrad block is all released.

With inn coming out in the next few days. This card is going great, mill them and bam no more cards in their graveyard. The thing about flash back is it doesn't work when the card has been exile. Awsome snapcaster mage, bam what no more cards in your graveyard.

There comes a time when everyone is called to rise to an occasion of great import. When Snapcaster Mages, Sun Titans, Unburial Rites and Forbidden Alchemys stalk the land, terrorizing all in their path, the times call for a hero to rise from obscurity.

You may be an inanimate hunk of albeit magical metal. You may have felt the sting of being passed in drafts time after time like that one-legged kid in dodgeball. You may have even asked yourself, "what am I even doing here?"

But Nihil Spellbomb, your time is upon you. Rise up, go forth, and protect the metagame. Good luck, and godspeed.

4.5 because I will need it in my side board.

However Tormod's Crypt is the best... EVER!

How dare u underestimate this!!! You will find this handy in Innistrad, especially around all those graveyard effects. 5/5

I won't lie, I gave this 5 stars because it brought it up to a perfect 4.000. Well that and the fact that my local circle has lots of graveyard decks now that Innistrad is out, and this card alone can stop them dead in their tracks. It's hilarious watching my friend Dream Twist himself for 3 turns and then bring out Necrotic Ooze, only to have it rendered a vanilla creature before he can do anything with it.

Was this meant to be anti-Innistrad when it was made?

If you're running black in EDH, there's very little reason why this shouldn't be in your deck. One mana to hose someone's graveyard shenanigans, and it replaces itself for another Black? Count me in.

Slightly better than relic of progenitus for black and it's quite nice it can replace itself so it's *almost* maindeckable. Still, leyline of the void will usually serve you best in eternal formats.
