This card was clearly meant to go with Knight Exemplar . Other than that its kind of bleh.

one more mana would get you the walletslayer... but then again, she's a mythic and therefore should be limited to only the elite few who can afford her.

right?

That bird looks awkward. It seems to be thinking "What do I do with my arms while flying? Why do I even have arms? I'm a bird!"

Um... it's not a bird. It's a griffin. But not on the creature type line...

the art is really deceiving. I had this out with my knight exemplar and only realized after my opponent made mention of it, that this wasn't a griffin and did indeed get the boost.

that human knight needs to be a lot more noticeable!

5/5 for great artwork and flavor. I simply adore it even if it isn't the best card ever. As mentioned it might go nicely with the Exemplar.

Lol this card's art gets me so confussed...allways forget that it's a knight. Same thing happens to me with Kargan Dragonlord...

As mentioned before, a prime example of "commons need to be weak so we can force people to buy Wallet-Slayers to compete."

Subtypes aside, I rather this than the new Peregrine Griffin.

Why can't you be a human knight soldier griffin bird?

Your mount is an insect.

If the power and toughness were swapped, its rating would probably rise by about half a star. Not much more though.

Fun Fact: I used to be the kind of guy that would never play Leonin Skyhunter. Leonin used to be my least favorite part of Mirrodin block, hands down. I just thought they sucked. I'm very subjective in my card evaluations, and if it doesn't 'feel' right, or the card's art looks dumb, I just plain don't like it.

Then I watched the new series premier of Thundercats. Leonin are BADASS o.O

But for Cloud Crusader, this guy is miles better than a Wind Drake. What most of the Mythic Rare Haters don't appreciate is that Commons are for Limited, which is actually quite fun and the cards are neither under nor over powered, most of the time, for that format. I think Magic could be improved if All Mythic Rares were banned from Limited. Maybe that format could gain more popularity that way?

I don't think Mythic Rares are 'only for the Elite who can afford them', because single copies are not USUALLY horrendously difficult to get...and honestly, if you want a playset of a Mythic Rare, if it's not a dirt-cheap one (over the curve for Rare but not what you expect a Mythic to be: a Dollar Price on Winning the Game, because your expectations are bad and need adjusting), then chances are you are trying to make a Deck that shouldn't be played except at Competitive MAGIC. Well, PRO Magic gives real Cash Dollar prizes out, so YES, in order to have good enough Decks to go higher than FNM, actually it makes sense that you SHOULD have to invest a good sum to start yourself out, just like buying the right parts for a makeshift Podracer in your backyard or the right equiment for any other competitive sport that actually rewards you with money.

I'm irked that I can't compete in Pro Magic tournments -and- be a collector at the same time, but one of these years when I decide to stop trying to collect the whole set and Grind out PTQ once or twice, I won't be complaining about the cost to 'get in', even if another Jace happens. That's actually part of the allure of going Pro for me. And until then, just buying Duel Decks, Planechase, Archenemy, and Commander fills all my needs for better-than-Limited-worse-than-Pro Constructed decks.

You don't need 4-of's except at Common, Uncommon, and Dual Lands which are a special case of Rare to have a really good pile of fun at this game. :)
