French-vanilla flying guys are pretty much never interesting the third time around. That being said, I'm never upset to have this guy in limited, and the new artwork is great.

You want this new art to better, but it's not. Previous editions showed the griffin smiting an enemy and triumphantly rising into the air. This griffin could be soaring headlong into an Arbalest Elite's huge friggin' harpoon. "I smite thee from the skies!"

Such a low rating for a card that is obviously good in limited. People should rate it with its target format in mind. Probably a 3 to 3.5 out of 5 for limited.
