it's about time red got some decent landfall, and burning is exactly how its landfall should be rewarded

It's like Battle Hurda. I might play it, but I won't be very happy about it. 2/2 for 4 doesn't impress me much. And the burn only hits players? Lame.

This could have been decent as an uncommon that did 2 damage, or a rare that dealt 2 and could target creatures as well

When will we meet Cosi? She sounds so cozy!

The body is a bit weak... I wish it was a 2/3 for the 4CC. Still, a good burner for Landfall decks. Playable at any rate. 2.5/5

dont know why you guys are not liking this, I agree it could have been better a 2/3 or a 3/2 for 4, or if it had done 2, or done 1 and targeted a creature, would have been better, still, it is good in a r/g landfall deck for that finishing ping

over all, best for sealed, wouldnt take one in draft unless I was working on a landfall deck, probally wont see play outside limited the way it is

@garbagegatherer, I know, if she appears she will be R/U one, that combines the best of those 2, chaos and mind twisting, something like a swerve ability, or copy ability, I say that because Cosi's trickster is a blue merfolk that pumps on a shuffle, and I kinda want a new UR card for an EDH deck

@garbagegatherer, do you see the part where it says "his bidding"? I don't think he wants to hug you.

I dont like it, too much mana for a 2/2 :S black decks and green decks can easily kill him XD

This is junk, 2/2 and maybe deals one, rarely 2 in a turn? No thanks, I'll play something cheaper and more efficient.

@garbagegatherer & Tommy9898 - It'd be a bit more worrying if he did want to hug you.

I take back what I said about this guy. He's a lot stronger than people think. In a decent landfall deck, this guy (or multiples) WILL kill your opponent. Asking for a version of this that hits creatures as well or one that deals 2 damage instead is wanting way too much. If they did 2 damage, 4 out with an evolving wilds or a fetchland would deal 16 damage to an opponent!

Should've been at least a 2/3 that could target a creature.

Would have been a nice card if it could target creatures. As it is, it's unplayable.

If it only was a 3/3

or did 2 damage per land.

Get this out and then cast Thieves' Auction. Grab him first and then keep grabbing lands, hopefully killing your opponent after all the landfall triggers resolve.

Tried using this in a pauper landfall deck once, pulled them out after a few games. Too underpowered--by 4 cmc (esp in red) you'd want something that makes an impact. This is too slow, and it can't target creatures. It might help if they upped the power or damage done per landfall.

Guys, at 3/3 he'd be strictly better than Hill Giant.
...
I mean, that's not a complaint, but still, Wizards don't like Red getting creatures strictly better than the absolute king of mundanity.
