I've always liked this one, I've found it can be a good complimentry creature in a Verduran Enchantress deck, or any other deck with come creature buffs in it.

This ability should read, "Creature with Shroud may be targeted as though they didn't have shroud." I'd like the flavor more that way.

Run with R&D's Secret Lair. As written on the card, you can do damage to one creature, then have a different creature do damage to Tracker.

pretty damn good for The Dark set....probably deserves a 2/5 but i gave it a 3/5 for being in The Dark and being almost playable in casual

This guy seems like he would have fit in well in Innistrad. As things are now, this ability behaves differently from fighting, though I personally wouldn't mind if Wizards did an aggressive errata.

I guess this can't be Oracled to "fight" because it doesn't care if Tracker's still around during resolution?

"I guess this can't be Oracled to 'fight' because it doesn't care if Tracker's still around during resolution?"

@HuntingDrake: Nope, that's not the reason.
Fight doesn't care about that either. It just means that each creature deals damage equal to its power to the other.
I think the reason it hasn't been "oracled" is because it doesn't happen simultaneously:

Tracker gets to hit first.

In case he's wielding a Blight Sickle and uses his ability to track down a 4/3 Nettle Swine for example, he'll survive since that creature will have diminished to a 1/0 by the time it gets to strike him back if i'm not mistaken.

(If he would Prey Upon this creature, he'd take four damage and die instead.
This is because damage happens simultaneously if they fight.)

"You may have Tracker target itself with its own ability. If you do, Tracker will deal damage to itself equal to its power, then immediately do it again."

Thank you, Oracle text. Now I'm picturing how that order must sound to the poor Tracker, and what it would be like. I'm envisioning a decadent planeswalker ordering his tracker to fight himself purely for his amusement...

Forget about "Tracker fights target creature." Give the dude a Basilisk Collar and you get "GreenGreen, Tap: Tracker smites target creature."
