Turn 1 - Rainbow Vale for a Thallid. "go." Opponent's first turn - 2 lighning bolts?! Ok, my second turn, I've got the Rainbow Vale back now now, that's cool. Two Icatian Infantrys, that'll show him. Opponent's second turn - Oh man! Now he has three lands and I only have one and it's tapped! Hymn to Tourach plus another Lightning Bolt?! Why couldn't my rare have been an Ebon Praetor?

Strictly worse than Double Rainbow Vale.

And even by itself, I'd still call it strictly worse than City of Brass.

OH MY GOD RAINBOW VALES ALL ACROSS THE SKY!!!!!

Play it turn 1, then play Reflecting Pool turn 2. Problem solved.

Kinda silly, though I suppose in Commander it could be fun to pass this around the table as a way to make friends. Also, it does work with Zebruu the Greathearted (or whatever the name of that female Minotaur commander is who grants you bonuses based on the number of cards you've given away.)

Fallen Empires - where even golden lands suck.

Still, I do wish to point out that there was a time - especially outside the US - where City of Brass was hardly available and very expensive (pre-Chronicles). During that time, this was one of the few available alternatives.

...and then all Icatian knights were recalled from Operation: Rainbow Vale in order that they could die in hopeless battles against innumerable Thallids and Thrulls, Orcs and Goblins.

Man, Fallen Empires was dark!
