Expensive level cost is expensive.

This was a 2 star card, 2.5 at best when it was first revealed. Now, with Training Grounds, this guy is very efficient. There are probably better, but he's not laughable. Unless you're not using leveler helpers.

Amazing limited card. One of the coolest common levelers in the set.

Don't underestimate this. It's Glory Seeker at first, and it's expensive to level, but it can become Kor Skyfisher and then Serra Angel.

Bloody annoying, but the look on their face when I bounce it makes up for it.

Turn 4 Serra Angel using Training Grounds.

Why all the hate for levelers? Think of them like creatures with a kicker cost you can pay any time during your turn, and that you can pay with increments. Hell, levelers are in my opinion better than most of the multikicker creatures out there

Another card strictly better than Gloryseeker. That's not a 0.5 of 5. The p/t bonus seems random. I would have preferred a version when a level up would have included a little drawback as well... but drawback are lame. Right R&D?

@F_fivefiftyseven: There's not a lot of love for multikicker creatures, either.

Seriously, though, I really like the level up concept. I think it makes for interesting card design. Frankly, it's too bad this is the 'last set' mechanic, meaning it won't be expanded upon in future expansions (much like Cascade). I think there's a lot of room for interesting level up design, and I would have liked to see where R&D took it.

Oh, and this guy's expensive because everything in Rise is expensive. Just draft it and have fun.

This card should be reprinted as "Knight of Cliffclaven" (Cheers reference). Overall, it's a decent card. I have seen better knights.

Expensive level cost is colorless.

Playable in a multicolor deck. Could have been 1W instead if it wasn't for that.

this card sucks a 2/2 for two is unplayable its level up ability is dumb to you can spend almost all of your mana on the secant third forth fifth and sixth turn for a 4/4 with flying and vigilance wouldn't make more seance to put in a I dont no a sara angel? Which is not that great a card to begin with.

The Level Up cost is WAY too expensive! Paying 3 more mana to get Flying and 1 more point of Toughness is still too expensive, but tolerable because they're added permanently. But to pay NINE MORE MANA just to add Vigilance, 2 more points of Power, and 1 more point of Toughness??? Are they kidding??? You could put two or three other, far better creatures onto the battlefield for that amount! This card's Level Up abilities are virtually pointless unless you have Training Grounds.

And what if someone returns this card to your hand? You did all that Leveling Up for nothing.

This is probably the best knight common, at least in Standard.

Overshadowed by Leonin Skyhunter, not that it got much love in the first place.

It's a Serra Angel for 14 mana. I am so there!

For a grand total of 13White, you get...
Serra Angel?

Weird that they put this in the same set, and at the same rarity, as the strictly inferior Glory Seeker.
