Replaces itself. Gives you a choice as to what you replace it with, and then becomes a decent blocker.
I like it, I just don't know where it would fit outside of W/U.
That may be just enough though.

I was thinking it is a good follow up to elvish visionary. Since green is the new blue anyways, might as well team them up and get some fantastic draws.

I can't claim to see the future, but this guy seems outstandingly fantastic. A high-toughness dude in a control-heavy color that draws and/or filters cards?
Yes please!

sleight of hand is 1 mana, so I'm paying 2 more mana for a 1/3 creature? not a bad deal.

Wonderful creature love the draw this provides 4 of in my blue deck
Like Wall of Omens, this guy is ridiculous with Venser, the Sojourner, in fact you'll outdraw most Jace decks. Of course with all that blue, why not have both?

Where did this guy find a Jedi Holocron?

Staple of my sun titan control deck. Who needs to spend 80 bucks on jace with the insane draws you get with that deck?

Solid card, yadda yadda.
Really wish Wizards' P/Ts made sense, though. Here's a perfectly normal looking human, not even wearing any noticeable armor, who just happens to be able to survive a Wolf or Bear (2/2) attack each round with no harm done.

He's good, and I have a few in my mono blue control deck, but I would prefer if they printed a blue Wall of Omens.

Seems like this card would have been better as a 2cc 1/2. you also draw 1 out of the oncoming 2 cards

This guy has single handedly won me games in a nasty Blue White control deck I built. This guy helps me draw my deck at the speed of light, Court Hussar has got nothing on him! My friends always laugh at me when I play him, and then they don't understand how I can draw my deck for the winning pieces so quickly. By himself he looks pathetic and un-intimidating which is what makes him so awesome!

Interesting. It's nice to get left with a body, like with Wall of Omens etc.

Run it in red/blue pauper, because I'm casual like that. Works amazing though. This and Mulldrifter provides me with pretty much all the cards I could wish for.

I use this in a {B}{U} 187 deck abusing blue flicker effects. It works beautifully to keep the cards comin'. I got a playset "for free" with a bunch of other random playsets that came with my Distortion Strikes; and it worked out very well. I would've overlooked him if it weren't for that.
That said, Augur of Bolas is slightly more attractive to me. Being a 2-drop means it'll hold back an extra attack or two (more likely) and allows room for more 3-drops, which in my deck happens to be clogged/important. They're both certainly good however. She can't nab lands or creatures if you're mana screwed however..
