Jump? Jump? Seriously? Wizards was all like: "Hey guys! Look at this! Power creep doesn't exist! See, we still print terrible cards." Maybe this and other reprints that have been repeatedly obsoleted exist purely to make everything else in the set look better by comparison.
Of course, that's really cynical of me. Wizards isn't that bad.
But seriously? Jump?

I like it. Especially the new art! I'll take a combat trick over a mediocre enchantment any day.

LOL THIS CARD IS SUCK TO THE MAX! When my buddies and I drafted, it was the card no one wanted. I really just don't get it.

I agree with some of the other posters they should have just reprinted leap. Or at the very least have made this a permanent enchantment. Even then it would have been weak but at least playable somewhere. Now its just a waste of space to show new players how bad some cards can be.

I read a quote somewhere where someone said they had been playing since Alpha and had never seen Jump played in a game. I also read an article on the Wizards site that defended the need for bad cards as a learning tool for new players.

Its redeeming factor is that it shares the name of the Van Halen song.

Since this card was already printed at the same cost as a cantrip, doesn't show this how weak Jump actually is? I would never have thought of it getting reprinted.
Eric Deschamps did such an awesome artwork job here, it would have suited as reprint for Leap just equally good...

It's like they took all the crap cards they should have made in white to counterbalance its powercreep and just gave them to blue instead.
@ littlebeast: Check out Levitation. Jump is worthless.

I think its better than Soaring Seacliff, or even Levitation, if only for the defensive... But it won't give you that surprise card advantage that Leap will. .5/5 One thing Jump can do that leap can't? Uhh... Dandan: "Magikarp-karp-karp"
This is the worst thing ever. And not even in Magic, but in the history of the world.

I use this in my blue/green ally deck. I target something annoying on my opponents side, Jump it, then drop Tajuru Archer or another ally if he's already out. Boom! I know its not that great, but a nice surprise when it works out.

I'm really struggling to understand the raw hatred this card seems to get, lol. While not amazing by any means, jump is a decent combat trick for very low mana that is quite flexible on both offense and defense. Come on, it is rated below Purelace for God's sake! No one can tell me they'd rather make a guy White than flying...
When used in a combo deck like blue/green or blue/black, there are some truly terrifying ground creatures that will bypass an opponents line before he even knows wtf happened.
Combine this card with Control Magic or Ray of Command and laugh as his Gigantic creature soars over his other defenders and lands on life total with a thud. Cast it on one of your defenders and intercept his stupid Serra Angel when he is not expecting it.
Again, not a game changer, but I almost always include this card in my blue decks and seldom regret it.

its an instant not like soaring seacliff shimmering wings or levitation it has its own uses but leap still beats it
i've once putting four of this in my deck, when we played "no rare and uncommon game", it won me so many times, by surprising my opponent with a non-flying blocker.. outside of that game, there are so many better card.. gave it 2.5/5 for that.

Leap needs to be reprinted. This drek needs to never see print again. Yes Wizards we get that Jump is flavourful but Leap is MORE flavourful. Jump brings to mind a height of a few meters at best. Leap is much better flavourfully AND functionally.
One mana temperory evasion spells should always let you draw a card. That way even if your in a situation where it won't do you any good, you can still play it just to replace it with another card.
I for one welcome wizards mad desire to bring back cards from 4th edition that have since been made obsolete by cards in later sets.
Harbor Serpent? pffft... Bring back Island Fish Jasconis! Chandra's Spitfire? What can it do that Bird Maiden can't! And who needs all these artifacts that give you 1 life whenever someone plays a card of a certain color, when we can tap {1} every time to gain the same life! Keep reprinting old cards! REAL MAGIC is painful and inefficient

how high does one have to jump to gain flying, exactly?

I think what infuriates people about this card is not that it was bad when created - a lot of cards were, and that's fine since nobody really understood the game back then - but that things like this keep coming back to waste space in future sets. Not only is Jump useless, it is directly inferior to other cards (like Leap) that ALSO won't see play in serious games since they aren't powerful enough!
Since reprinting Leap vs. Jump won't break the game, one has to conclude that cards like this are "trolls" - stuck in boosters to waste space and get some laughs at the people who buy them. I don't see how selling players trash helps them figure out that Jump is a bad card.

Well, its situational but it can still potentially do something. Maybe take out a flying creature in a surprise block, thats worth one hardy mana. There have been cards that do the same thing for the same cost, but do it better. But when you dont have access to those cards, this will have to do.

I really don't get why people despise this card so much, I know its saved my ass before. Be it a surprise block or a unexpected finish by giving a fatty evasion. It's not the best card (especially compared to leap) but still, 2.5/5.

Well, so much rage. Yeah it's worse than other existing cards, but it is nice that they do not always reprint the strictly best of every option. In sealed, you may have enjoyed playing with leap. Now you get jump, and you must decide: is it worth it now?

Excellent card in Green/Blue for spells like Windstorm or Crash Landing that destroy flyers. Or the infamous array of archers green has to offer, such as Jagged-Scar Archers or Tajuru Archer.
