I just love how necessarily complicated the wording on this card is. Not sure how good it is yet, but killing up to 3 small creatures and even stopping 3 creatures from blocking can be powerful.

There is, of course, a reason Eldrazi Spawn is getting it in the art.

Nice and flexible.

I feel like it could have said "1 damage to three creatures OR three creatures can't block." But I can imagine a rare situation where you might want some combination of the two.

I think i know what you mean ZEvilMustache, but then again if it would have read something like "Choose up to three target creatures, then choose one or both - Wrap in Flames deals 1 damage to each of those creatures; or those creatures can't block this turn.", it would have been far too complicated for a simple common.
A card with a wording like that should have taken an uncommon slot instead. Something like Akoum Boulderfoot could have taken in this card's common slot then instead, but now we have this rather simple little burn spell instead.

While Panic Attack almost always sucked, I like how this card gives you options. You can pick off their chump blockers and/or attack past their fatties and walls.

@ZEvilMustache. . . I'd rather take two instead of one!

I think this is pretty good. There are a lot of 1 toughness creatures you want to kill in this format, and a lot of big dudes you want to get past blockers.

Kill their Eldrazi spawn, or prevent their big eldrazis from blocking, what's not to like?

Not sure if this card is effective as intended, because isn't it possible just to sacrifice an Eldrazi token that is targeted to "fizzle" this spell? Isn't that how stop someone getting a rebound from Staggershock-ing your Eldrazi token?

Please someone explain this to me if i am incorrect. Thanks!

I wish they would just make a nice solid Falter like spell though.

@InResponse85: Sacrificing one of the targets won't stop this spell because there will still be other things the spell can do. For a spell to be countered due to illegal targets, all of the targets must be illegal as it's trying to resolve. If any targets are still legal then the game reverts to the "this effect does as much as it still can" rule.

You could sacrifice all three spawn in response if you really wanted to counter the spell for some other reason, but that'll still accomplish removal of your spawn pretty effectively.

I don't see how this is complicated wording. Seems rather straight forward. Maybe the "to each of up to" is a bit clunky, but it gets the point across.
