Is it weird how much I like this card? It's an aggressive blue flier that isn't stupid obscene!

Why can't blue just get a 2/2 creature with flying with no other effect for 2CMC?

Bad card. This is by defualt what you often get for Blue, but for 1 T and can only blokc creatures with Flying is just silly. Might as well just go for more exspensive creatures with Flying and higher p/t

@re4: It's because that's not how blue rolls, man. That would be entirely too efficient to have a 2/2 flier for 2. Flying usually costs at least one mana on creatures. So you'll normally get a 2/2 flier for 3 or a 1/2 flier for 2. (TLDR: BALANCE)

I have a foil one of these I affectionately call Shiny Pidgey.
Thankfully, my DS is still intact. =D
Underrated, IMO. In Draft/Sealed, this is a first pick if you're running blue. 2 CMC 2-power flying's hard to come by, and who would use this defensively? The only reason you'd be sad to see this thing is late-game when an opponent has a flier on the board (in which case it's the perfect chump) or when you're searching for an out to keep you alive and draw this against a ground force.
I mean, it's terrible in Constructed, but it's a great blue common for Zendikar Limited. Without a doubt, it's the best blue creature at common rarity, the only competition really being Umara Raptor.

Terrible in Constructed, but absolutely amazing in Limited.

@re4: Yea, I don't think any single color gets a plain 2/2 flier for 2. Green is the only one that would allow creatures that efficient, and of course green doesn't get fliers. Multicolored, however, is another story: Gaea's Skyfolk, Azorius First-Wing
There was a time, in the oh-so-distant past, when Blue was the primary color of flying creatures.
Now White gets a 2/2 flier that it can drop for effectively 0 mana on turn 1, and in general has unquestionably the best fliers around.
It'd be nice if WotC could stop fapping endlessly to White.

This guy is up there with Storm Crow. I'm not sure who is better, but I think that they didn't realize how powerful this was when it was printed. The combo's are limitless.

Pretty aggressive for a blue card. No all-star, but I run him if I need that extra small flier.
