Great creature if the situation is right!

sure, 5 damage turn two is good. but what is this guy going to do, lets say... turn 3? This creature is horrible.

@Ace_Rimmer

You could unearth the hellspark elemental or cast ball lightning or hell's thunder. there is quite a few options. This is a pretty good card.

The Familiar is meant to cause a steady stream of damage. As long as you can attack with other creatures, it's golden.

meh. you have to consider the opponent running removal, which they should be. this guy doesn't even need removal, they kill your other creature and jackal is useless. also useless if you go into chump mode trying to topdeck burn. 3.5/5

There's some great RDW decks that use this in TypeII. Soooo I wouldn't be hatin when it's included in a deck that can whup most TypeII decks =)

He's great in {R} decks that are made to pump out creatures each turn to keep attack buddies nearby (sligh would be one).

I use it in my Bant deck.

Good card to drop on turn one, could pair well with some hasted friends like raging goblin.

Limitation is pretty tough, might be a little easier to handle if it only restricted attacking or blocking instead of both.

I wish he had banding, lol

Whoever says this creature is terrible in all aspects is a noob that tries to sound smart. Sure this may not fit some preferences, but it can really be good in a rush deck that uses red.

Everything about the usefulness has already been said. What's more important is this-

Is that Sarkhan Vol in the artwork?

It's a decent card, but I have a question. If you have two of these on the field, and neither of them are tapped or affected by summoning sickness, can you attack with them or not?

It's like a worse Goblin Cohort.

Yeah, good with "hasters".

The Spanish version of this card reads is missing the word "alone." So..."Jackal Familiar can't attack or block." Yeah, that's significantly worse, lol.

Should be better than Isamaru.

Better than Goblin Cohorts/Mogg Con***s. Unless you're running a goblin deck.

Turn 1 - Jackal Familiar x1
Turn 2 - Jackal Familiar x2
Turn 3+ - Swing for 6.

Also, is it just me or does he look fluffy and huggable? <(^o^<)

That dude in the background is like Keldon Warlord levels of awesome.

yes, you could. they are both checking if you are declaring another attacker at the same time, so they would both see the other one. The ability on this card is just so easy to get around to the point were is basically just a 2/2 for 1.

Regarding the flavour text: Nice choice, idiot. Jackals are more like scavengers than predators. Actually, jackals should be a black creature, since their opportunistic nature fits into the philosophy of black.
