I'm sure their flavor text is very accurate.

The flavor text is very accurate; thier so bloodthirsty and brutal that no opponent has been able to match thier strength.

Alternately, they're so reckless in battle that they never survive very long.

When bad cards happen to good art.
a 4/4 for 4R would have been blah enough, but why add its bad ability without compensating it? 3R or 2RR would have made this card.

This demonstrates Wiz emerging philosophy that common cards are suppose to suck and that rares are suppose to rockGreat Sable Stag or really rock Baneslayer Angel...It good for selling booster packs...bad for stacks and stacks of useless commons

I hope this something they don't develop further. Every card should have at least some utility, and no card should be flat out worst then another. But....money

I agree with Outlaw. However I see how this isnt always possible.
For instance if this card was a beast, or a goblin, it may make it useable in the corresponding decks.
However you'd never be able to have anything other than goblins and beasts if this is the logic they persued. So they have to mix it up. And that means a few less popular combinations.

Remember when wizards or merfolk didnt really have anything going for them to warrant having a deck based around them? It was just a creature type that you gave to blue creatures.
Well now you could probably build quite a good mechanic around them.
Just like Scarecrows and Vampires have started to come into their own.

Hate those types of cards. Always think (maybe its true, maybe not) that abilities like "always have to block/attack" or "can't block/attack" is for reducing CMC. Only problem is if abilities like those reduce cost by 1 then normal 4/4 Human Berserker should cost 5Red and that's just plain crazy.

Wizards wants to sell booster packs. That's why they print worthless garbage. It is mind-boggling that after all these years, they still fail to realize that people don't like throwing money away. If i were to open a booster and got a bunch of good cards from it, i'd want to buy more packs to get more useful cards. Unfortunately, that's never the case. Thank God that third parties sell singles. I just got four veteran armorsmiths for a dollar; i'd probably have to buy a hundred dollars worth of boosters for the same playset, 90% of which would be throwaway garbage like the berserkers here. I guess Wizards is satisfied with people only buying boosters for drafts.

If you want to sell more, satisfy the consumer. It's really very simple, but since they've been doing this from the beginning, my hopes aren't high. At least they stopped with the nigh-political load of doublespeak they've used as reasons for printing garbage cards; my eyes rolled so far up that I saw my own brain.

Would have been something to consider if they had Haste, but...

People will always find something to complain about. If Wizards started printing ONLY good cards, people would complain that there's "No skill involved anymore" and "Every noob can be competitive now" and "Sealed formats aren't fun anymore" or something.

You *choose* to play this game. No one forces you.

Totally agree with Great_North! Some cards have to be bad... Plus, you have to understand the limited dinamics... Moreover, I don't undestand why people whine about finding it in the boosters: if you're playing limited, then either look away for something else or play it for a mere 4/4 for {4R}, what's the problem? Sometimes you have to play some cards that aren't stellar but you have to fill the curve of your deck. If you're opening boosters for finding cards, then maybe you're aiming for rare/uncommon, because after you've opened a dozen of boosters you've find a lot of commons so it doesn't matter anymore...

Its ability is there to teach novice player to attack. Ofter novicers don't attack for fear, so forcing them they will discover the joy of attack...

And for people like OutlawD1, whining about the power of rare cards Vs common cards: there are powerful cards at every rarity, like there are cards that sucks at every rarity. Examples?
Common powerful cards:
Coiling Oracle
Sakura-Tribe Elder
Think Twice + Ponder to name some non-creature cards
and I don't lose any more time...

1.5/5 for being an under average card. But, what's important, I'm not whining...
