Far more versatile, useful, and altogether fair than any other landwalk card I've seen to date.

decent, but whispersilk cloak is 95% better

These boots were made for landwalkin', and that's just what they'll do...

There is no reason at all to choose this over whispersilk cloak.

With all the non-basic lands, this is pretty good.

Definitely a sideboard card.

Will become far more useful when the Worldwake card get added to the mix more people will play the non basics lands that enter the battlefirld tapped along with the amulet of vigor

Most people I encounter don't play nonbasic lands; I don't understand... I freaking love nonbasic lands!

Magic has been wanting a card that gives creatures nonbasic landwalk since that term showed up in Guildpact. No doubt a lot of players thought up their version of a nonbasic-landwalk granter.

@Laguz:
Actually, there is.
Whispersilk Claok is an instant target for removal since it makes the creature unblockable no matter what.
Trailblazer's Boots are only a threat to people with non-basic Lands (Yes, there are people who DON'T use them!), so the basic Land users won't see any reason to destroy it.

The existence of whispersilk doesn't make this bad, whispersilk is broken, this is balanced.

Solid for EDH decks wanting something to get through namely their general. While Whispersilk cloak is immensely better this gets the job done as well. 99.999% they will have a non basic land. So in reality its "equipped creature is unblockable."

Epic card, might as well say "unblockable", especially in EDH. Run this AND whispersilk cloak.

This card's flavor makes no sense. A good chunk of NBL's are set apart by the fact that they're developed or at least inhabited in some way. How is crossing through inhabited territory "trailblazing?"

Infect creatures could use this evasion effectively..also the thought of a little Ichorclaw Myr scurrying across the plains of Mirrodin is both hilarious and terrifying.

This is so goofy that I want to like it, but its expensive.

And to think, if Whispersilk Cloak weren't so broken, we'd be seeing this flavorful, fair card in competitive play. It's a bit of a shame.

It's So easy to list the places it hasn't been: Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest. Love the flavor text.

I'm thinking of running a mono green infect deck that runs this.

Some cards change a lot in development, some cards don't.

Generally this was well received by development. However this card was common, and there was a concern that if this came up too much in sealed some players would be discouraged from playing the lands in the set. So we made it uncommon.

@iandustrial:

I just chuckled pretty hard. GOOD PLAY.

Does any Johnny know how to break this? There's a creature from Futuresight that goes through your deck and gives an opponent a forest, which fuels forestwalk, but is there any nonbasic land that switches controllers regularly?

EDIT: Thanks, TrinityVill!

Where the hell do people get the idea that Whispersilk Cloak is broken? As far as equipment goes, Umezawa's Jitte is broken. Sword of Fire and Ice and its kin are broken. Compared to Whispersilk, even Lightning Greaves are broken.
Rant aside, this card is a nice piece of flavor and mechanics. Exemplifies a lot of what Zendikar is about, exploring, fancy lands and creatures which like to swing. But you'd think that, if they had to elevate it to an uncommon, they could have at least lowered the equip cost by 1 to make it able to compete for Cloak's spot. And because, come on, it's a pair of boots. What kind of boots costs more than 1 to equip?

Hmm, I have two of these in my current deck, but I'm thinking of replacing them with two Cloak of Mists, to me they seems much better, except for being enchantments instead of artifacts (they do cost 1B instead of 4 though). Anyone else have an opinion here?

Sebastian's random card 31/08/13:

This card is effective against any pro deck and nearly fundamental in any pro game.
Completely ineffective in a draft.

Combo with Rainbow Vale for a fun game.
