Since when does a blue creature have a sword? Since when is it a warrior? Shouldn't it have been a rouge or something?

So you're saying we should make Phantom Warrior a rouge, is that right? And that Phantom Warrior shouldn't have a sword, correct? Oh, if only I could post a picture to accurately describe my reaction to such a comment.

While it being a rogue would be more convenient for me (and my rogue deck), they can't make things too easy for us. ;)

What matters is that it's an illusion, and illusions are very very blue.

Find a way to beef this guy up and you can have some real attacking power.

I love equipping him with Quietus Spike... :-D

What happens if a lure was cast on the warrior?

If a lure was casted on the warrior, than nothing would happen. lure says: all creature able to block enchanted creature do so. since phantom warrior can't be blocked...

New to the game wondering something. this is unblockable but it can still attack correct?

@Carodwen: It can attack and block. It cannot be blocked, so unless it's power is reduced by some effect, it always deals combat damage to the defending player (or a planeswalker they control).

this guy goes great in blue decks with loxodon warhammer and rite of replication (using kicker)

M10 has this unblockable 2/2 for 3, but a 3/3 flyer for 4 is too powerful to get in? Does that make sense to you?

3 CMC for 2/2 unblockable is fantastic.

Pump him with the right equipment, and your opponent is forced to deal with him if they can.

The artwork and flavour suits the card perfectly. If you are a blue mage and you need a beatstick, this is your man!

turn 1: bone saw
turn2: bone saw
turn 3: phantom warrior
turn 4: attach clout of the dominus, and both bone saws, attack

by turn 4 you have a 5/3 unblockable with shroud

You can never go wrong with this guy. At the least, he is a nuisance that has to be dealt with eventually by removal. At the worst, he is a game winning vehicle when equipped with artifacts, damage boosts and/or enchantments.

Quietus Spike is devastating.
Loxodon Warhammer will hurt, a lot.

Umbra's are a great fit, particularly since they help him avoid removal for a brief time.

Finest Hour. Put him into a bant deck and watch him get so exalted he smashes faces in a matter of turns.

Anyone who said this card should be a rogue clearly didn't read the name of card. It would be a bit of a contradiction for the Phantom Warrior to be a rogue and if your playing a rogue deck I'd recommend using Inkfathom Infiltrator instead (it costs 1 less, it can be played with black or blue, and if you're able to block with Phantom Warrior you clearly and making use of its unblockable).

I like the art in the Weatherlight version better.

This is good with battle cry.

My favorite block for art was the Mirage block.

My least favorite set for art, bar none, was 7th Edition.

This art was new for 7th Edition.

The original was from Weatherlight.

This art is better.

I don't know who I am anymore.

Number 1 pick for reprint in Innistrad

Illusion Tribal would love a 3/3 unblockable hexproof beat stick

Better then Storm Crow

I can imagine that this guy wasn't reprinted in M12 for the same reason Lord Of The Unreal is a human and not an illusion. Having several of these down, along with his lord is incredibly hard to deal with.

Even with it's small presence in the illusion deck in Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2012, it's clear to see that the power level could get out of hand.

All of these comments about some way of giving it hexproof or shroud, or playing it in Innistrad, are so very entertaining now that we have Invisible Stalker.

My illusion tribal is casual, this is a lovely card but personally, I'd take my beloved Thalakos Mistfolk, over him any day, also if you like evasion and loopholes I believe they printed Sneaky Homunculus before Homunculus was a valid creature type :) very fun cards

The first vanilla unblockable creature!
When I found one in a Weatherlight pack, back in these days, I was shocked!
Now I consider it a nice standard. Blue, as the color with the weakest creatures, should have the best evasion...

This is the last reprint of Phantom Warrior. Sadly, because I like it very much...!

give him a sword of something and enjoy. invisible stalker is way better, though.
