Suprised it's rated so low, I had two or three in my pre-release deck, and they were VERY effect, at worst, it sets your opponent back a land of their least common land type, at best, it frees up a hard hitter from a pacifism or some such

Now my Rhys EDH combo can DESTROY all lands instead of just tapping them! =)

A pretty good card. If you're running green and playing limited, play this. It's a great trick up the sleeve for enchantment/artifact removal, or even color denial under certain circumstances.

Dispite it's low power and toughness, (which can be made up for) I really like this card. When it comes into play, distory target non-creature, when it is blocked or blocks, distory creature. In short, it's a versitile card. I like it. Just protect it well and it should be devistating.

seems like a good but a little slow and the deathtouch ability is good but as for creeping mold come alive i would leave the land des. to red and use naturalize for my green deck.

In multiplayer, this card does a good deal. It comes down and eats something, and then staves off some nasty attacker. At worst, it swings for two that nobody wants to block. Five mana is a fair bit, but this is a deal.

The versatility of this card is absolutely amazing. I only wish that it destroyed a noncreature permanent so that it could nuke troublesome walkers.

cool card but still 3gg is high for me ,the deathtouch is cool but ather creatures has that too right, and the destroy effect come on since when you pay 5mana to destroy an artifact....come on
Good card, but most effective if you can mana ramp to get it out early to destroy a land. (G)(1) is around something good to pay for to destroy target artifact, enchantment. (example. Naturalize) (G)(2) is also a good cost for a 2/2 deathtouch. And able to destroy a land is amazing too, but is very noneffective late game...

I dunno, it just feels like a mid game sorcery, it's kind of expensive to play, yes deathtouch and the creeping mold ability are cool but there are other cards that do it better not together mind you. could b e worth it if you run with a lot of mana exceleration

@ ultratog: creatures cant be destroyed, unless they are also artifacts/enchantments/lands, and only one target can be destroyed.

This is actually one of the absolute best cards in the game, why? Because it's a built in at least 2 for 1 that can often become a 3 for 1, wracking up card advantage. The ability also works as it enters play, so as long as its not countered it functions immediately. Most times you get to kill target enchantment/artifact and then go on to use the slimes death touch to kill a creature. WIth a giant growth in hand or some way to pump it up the slime may just stick around to cause more havoc. It's killer for LD decks, and for disabling combo decks, since the majority of them require some sort of enchantment or artifact to complete the combo. There's also the new death touch rules, which mean anything you can add to the slime that lets it deal non combat damage will also work with death touch allowing it to take out a creature for free once a turn (like thornbite staff, soul's fire, and other associated cards). Since zendikar its also one of the only ways to take out the ever obnoxious valakut and emeria sky ruin, two cards you really don't want to let your opponent run amok with. Lastly, unlike mold shambler, it says nothing about non creature. If creatures are also lands, enchantments, or artifacts, it can kill those too (such as with artifact decks like the ones using thopter foundries, and enchanted evening).
5/5 for being one of the best green utility creatures in the game.

i'd love to at least try a G/W deck running these, journey to nowhere, oblivion ring, naturalize, tempest of light, narrow escape, solemn offering, etc. also mana accel to get started early.
best case you can start playing them on turn 3, then bounce them into and out of exile/hand when your cards allow.
probably couldn't compete in tournaments, but it would be fun when it works

very versatile, but at 5 mana I don't end up having a spot for it too often...
This BAMF slime monster goes a long way towards making Green control feasible.

@ MadTheorist - ultra was also including the deathtouch in there, because you'll drop at least one critter as well (barring creature destruction).
@ those complaining about the mana cost - Really...you've got a problem getting 5 mana in a game...with green? There may be something wrong with your deck, then...5 mana is nothing for a green deck.

This is something of a modern take on Desert Twister. It kills most permanents, and can often 2 or even 3-for-1 an opponent, sticking around after its initial effect to possibly deathtouch and kill another creature. It's a fine creature in slower decks and gives green mages some control elements to work with. It's not as situational as cards like Tranquility or Naturalize, and can hit lands if there are no other targets and you just want it on the field. Furthermore, this is excellent with Momentary Blink and other recursion effects.
