Awesome artwork on this, and a black countering ability is nothing to scoff at.

As Kismet mentioned, Painter's Servant is good. I'd also pay the 1 extra mana as opposed to Death Grip.

Say goodbye to those pesky Progenitus turn 2 combos. Say hello to buying an entire deck with four of this and Dark Ritual just to spite your friend.

This allows you to cast Phage the Untouchable from your command zone without losing the game. Then you're just a Disentomb away from having it on the battlefield.

Only useful in silly ways, and even then, it's pushing it.

I like his ability one of the few fallen empires cards worth playing with Blue Black control could have fun with this and freed from real.

Swirl the Mists if you want to permanently hose a specific color.

Anyone else think the flavour on this one is very rich? Like others have mentioned, it's a creature from Fallen Empires that has reasonably withstood the test of time...

It also tells us how the {B} human faction in Sarpadia met their fate, name drops Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, makes us imagine the "Thrull Rebellion", and provides more great Anson Maddocks art.

This ol' boy is wild, 4/5.
