Before there was Captivating Vampire stealing your creatures, there was Krovikan Vampire.
His casting cost is not that high, considering his ability and the fact he's Dark Ritual-era black creature. Give him deathtouch with Basilisk Collar. Use Bullwhip to make something attack, and be blocked by this guy. With Bullwhip's 1 damage he can kill/steal any 4-toughness creature without any power boosts for Krovikan Vampire. Likewise, you can use effects that force a creature to block, and for this use it's better than Soul Collector as blocking the latter requires your target to have flying.
