This card did actually seem almost useless until there came to be so many ways to play out of your graveyard. And now with so many more creatures with Deathtouch and more spells that destroy creatures, regeneration can make or break a game. My favorite way to regenerate remains Fortitude and Broken Fall or Molting Skin as so many creature and spell abilities activate on number spells cast or enchantments in play. However when I am not playing green, this card IS the way to go for regen, ESPECIALLY when you have many ways to return your graveyard to your library or you want cards in your graveyard fast!

I hope you're joking, this card is laughable at best. there are better options for regen, and also discard.

Haha, this is somehow rated more than one whole star higher than Medicine Bag! (2.231 vs 1.143)

Note that the Oracle text changes the functionality of this card.

As written on the card, discarding the card is part of the effect, which would still occur if you had no cards to discard.

As re-written for Gatherer, the discard is part of the cost and necessary for the effect to take place.

This change makes the card far, far, less useful for Madness decks. It wouldn't be broken with it's orginal functionality, so the change seems unnecessary.

Actually, it says its a cost in the card as well. "Discard a card TO regenerate a target creature."

I love the way they worded cards back then. Funny as hell.

Rather worthless since the discard is random. Otherwise, it could have been used in some sort of wonky graveyard-based engine.

I hear Tibalt collects these things. He uses them to regenerate his bruised ego.
