Nice card against decks that have no reds, but if they have, it screams CRAP.

I kind of agree with Outlaw.
The machanic is a good idea, but i would have prefered another name for it.
Intimidate would rather suit to a creature that can only be blocked by creatures with greater power, similar to a counterpart of the abilities from Ironclaw creatures.

Intimidate doesn't seem strange, it is strange. At least fear made sense, because the creature's appearance or abilities would strike 'fear' into your opponent's creatures. I'm not entirely sure how a 3/2 pig is going to intimidate something like Lord of the Pit... Or any sort of demon for that matter.

Careful Big 7/7 baloth, here comes an angry pig!!!

Intimidate flavor is just strange. I think they need to rethink it.

Intimidate should have been power based instead of color based.

what the fudge? intimidate sounds more of a green mechanic
what happen to fear?.... at least change it back to fear or fright, dread, terror, horror, panic or something to do with black mana

i believe a huge baloth would be scared of severed hands feet (Severed legion) going after u
right?

intimidate is just the new mechanic wizards made to bring fear to colors other than black

I think Intimidate is an interesting flavour choice, but like many things (like Progenitus not being able to block a Welkin Tern), we just have to accept the flavour doesn't work in some situations. Also, this card is bitchin' in Limited because nobody ever plays Red ever. I picked up 4 of these in a draft once.

Basically, I think they changed Fear to Intimidate because it complicated balance issues for Black to have an entire game mechanic all to itself. Other mechanics may be hard to find in certain colors (like flying for green), but they do exist. Otherwise they would've had to introduce a different exclusive keyword for each color.

In New Zealand, they use dogs to hunt boars. So if a dog isn't intimidated by a boar, convince me why even a lone wolf should be.

The intimidation of a Bladetusk. . . More fierce than the fiercest of Myr, more clever than a Hedron Crab. Thier fangs are like razorsharp blades of the bloodchief, thier claws of the valakut tearing into the scalding tarn. The scent of thier fur more thick and dark than a B.F.M., and thier beady little eyes, cooler than Nicolas Cage. The Boar is back. . . The boar is back. . .

I've always had a problem with intimidate flavourwise. You're telling me a zombie or a skeleton, who is a emotionless husk with no concept of fear, morals or self preservation can be intimidated?

Fear in black was fine because it made sense that sentient races would be afraid of it. It even made sense that animals would avoid such horrible creatures since instinct would tell them to.

Oh well. As long as black keeps the majority of creatures with intimidate I'm fine with it since it's supposed to be black's main form of evasion.

Good in limited. Nobody seems to play red in m13. It's a 3/2 unblockable for 4. Beef it up with Dark Favor, and you have a serious threat and a timer. I don't think I would use this in constructed though, there are better options out there for red (Krenko, Mob Boss; even without goblin tribal, he is a beast).

For intimidate mechanic, we just have to accept that its a MAGIC ability that prevents anything but the same color creatures and artifacts from blocking it.

Its not that Lord of the Pit is scared of this guy, its just that there is strong magic preventing him from blocking.

I LOVE the flavortext on this card. It goes with the mechanic so perfectly. See, the only things that can block it (stand in its path) are either red (brave) or artifacts (mindless).
