You sir, are no Ambassador Oak. I appreciate the Giant love, though.

How on earth is this guy not getting more love? He's a 6 cost, which is probably the worst thing going against him, but he's a 4/4 that puts a 2/2 into play when he dies; While that's not as good as say, the Broodmate Dragon, you've also got to take into account that he can make a comeback, dragging another little guy out when he leaves again, and at a cheaper price too. Either way you look at it or get it into play, this guy has got more punch than most people give him credit for.

He's a bad card, its pretty obvious. When a player summons something on turn six, they usually will need something more useful then a vanilla creature that only produces a token. Also the token is only brought into play if the slavedriver dies; definitely not worth paying six mana for.

I wouldn't say he's a bad card - good in limited - but he doesn't really justify the cost. Problem is, 3BB would have been out of place in Alara, and 4B would have been a stretch, so there's probably not actually a better cost for him.

The token comes into play if he leaves play so if he gets Oblivion Ringed you get a token. The mana cost is fair and an Undead Warchief can make him cheaper.

@ SavageBrain89 : Who in thier right mind plays this on turn 6? With my zombie deck he is always out turns 2-4. A 4/4 turn 2 is nice to have and a turn four 4/4 still acceptable. And I'm not going to complain if I get another creature when this one dies. Good card for zombie decks.

Not a bad card, though totally outclassed by Grave Titan now.

One of the useful things about him is the fact that he DOES NOT produce a token when he dies he produces it when he leaves the battlefield. So if he gets bounced or Exiled then you get a token.
So I'm thinking combine him with Mimic Vat you've got a token generator. However, he is expensive for what he does.

It's the Grixis version of Mogg War-Marshal.

This was designed for the zombie deck... Plain and simple. There is a blue enchantment that costs 5U (I forget the name) that makes the cost of all zombies you want to play 0.... and there are plenty of other ways to lower the cost anyways. Besides, in a zombie deck, this will be the fattest guy wandering the board after all the zombie tribal-based buffs placed on it, and your opponent will have to kill it if they want to live... which will result in a couple more zombies. How can anyone that plays a zombie deck complain about this card is beyond me...
4/5 Because The background zombies have a very un-zombie-like feel to them...

Cemetery Reaper is superior in many ways. This Grixis creation is a decent card though if not an expensive one.
