Maybe a little less efficient than Sunpedal Grove, but it's still a flexible source of mana. The artwork is beautiful and looks fantastic as a play mat.

I can see this being popular if people are doing landfall - returning a land gets you a guaranteed trigger next round.

I'd like to see an opposing-color-pairs cycle of Borderposts. These are nice, the alternate cost is great, and I'd like them available for every color pairing.

Great card for a 2-color deck. Especially when facing pesky LD decks.

Does anybody actually pay the cmc to get this out?
I'm pretty sure it's silly to do so.
Also, I wish they'd make a sort of borderpost for every color,
Not just friendly ones.

@infernox10 - I've seen people to do so. It isn't a bad decision if you've already played a land that turn and have nothing in your hand that you could play or would have the mana left over to play the leftover cards. I especially love these when you have a card that requires a certain color of permanent. I've really never seen anyone use removal on these. Although I did bounce someone's first turn Borderpost once. Slowed him down a lot.

the Border Posts are pretty bad. You have to ask yourself why you are using them. If you are planning on hard casting, then you should use darksteel ingot. If you are planning on land bounching, then all manner of lands are better. You should be getting something that doesn't always come into play tapped, or has some other ability. If you are looking for land bouncing, the ravinaca lands are better. Those can bounce themselves every turn. If you are looking for flexibility, congrats, you got the mediocrity that comes with it.

@kiseki These can be good in certain situations, such as getting the bonuses from the Bant Surebladecycle when they come out on turn 2, as these count as a multi-colored permanent.

I have one in the sideboard for my Glittering Wish combo deck, because sometimes I have everything I need except for that last mana source.

Definitely one of the prettier of the borderposts. You can just feel the magic!

now that land tax is no longer banned in legacy, this could see some play in parfait decks..see here, it bounces your lands back keeping your land count low..also protects you if you're running Armageddon..
i agree with infernox10 though..i wish they'd make a borderpost for every colors and not just friendly ones..a {R}/{W} borderpost would've been good in a cherry parfait(utilizing blood moon)..
artworks gorgeous..kinda reminds me of the shire..
