This card sucks so much ass, why did they ever print it??? It's boring and powerless.

Poor Jhessian Lookout cries herself to sleep every night.

She's a terrible card.

Coral Merfolk isn't good. This is even worse.

Blue really gets the shaft on creature cards. I mean, Aven Squire is from the same set and it's infinitely better, even Akrasan Squire is better than this creature and it only costs White!

boo hoo, it doesn't have double strike, flying and lifelink. It's a cheap filler creature, something that you don't mind sacking or tossing in front of a huge monstrosity.

Geez, why is everyone whining so much? If you want a truly bad card, go whine to Squire.

In these comments, people who have never played a limited format before.
These creatures fill an important role in games where your card pool is purposefully small. Wizards understands that no constructed player wants anything to do with this, but having things like this makes it much simpler to determine the relative values of cards in a draft.

@Removal - You're wrong, there is no 'limited'...there's only (insert random format that the individual prefers)!!!

/end sarcasm

So your saying it would be bad for limited if this was not a bad card? The only time people play this trash is when they are forced to in a limited card pool, so your argument is invalid.

More like they make terrible cards because it accomplishes 3 things.
1) Makes the better cards look better.
2) Takes stress of designers, when they can waste a card slot on something that's garbage.
3) Takes up space in a booster pack, if you only got strong cards in your pack you would be satisfied with less packs.
