It would be ok if it just read "sacrifice a creature" or had first strike or deathtouch or SOMETHING. Now you just have a 3/2 flyer for 5. Not completely useless but not good.

I think the intention is to sacrifice an unearthed creature or a creature about to die in combat. Remember when this card was printed combat damage still used the stack.
Still, this is a big middle finger to Grixis players everywhere.
